The UKFast Newsletter 2007
The big news this month is to announce the winners of the UKFast Internet Awards. We have seven terrific winners and you can find out more about them in the Spotlight section.
There’s also a quick round up from City Tower, a tech tip about support over the festive season and an inspiring marketing interview with Chris Moss the mastermind behind the launches of both Orange and 118 118.
There have been some very exciting developments at UKFast this month, including the addition of a whole new team within the creative division.
Neil’s tech tips continue with a note on security through obscurity and our marketing minute concentrates on the over 50s who account for more than half of the UK’s disposable income.
This month we hosted the Sale Sharks Insider Club, which brings together all the sponsors of the Premiership team outside the Edgeley Park setting. We filmed the night and you can get a flavour of the event by clicking through to the newsletter.
Over at City Tower, we’ve been recruiting again in all areas. In particular, we’ve been taking on new programmers to continue improvements to your Client Area. Our tech tip gives you some advice on choosing secure passwords that are also memorable.

September was a busy month for UKFast! Lawrence Jones, our managing director featured on the television and the radio. In addition to this, he won the coveted Institute of Directors title of Manchester's Young Director of the Year.
Our UKFast football team also went head to head with other rival ISP's in the ISPA Charity Cup tournament.
Some sound DNS advice from our technical director Neil Lathwood makes up the tip from the techies and the marketing minute provides techniques to boost conversions.
Under the spotlight we have Motoring.co.uk, the fastest growing motoring portal in the UK. Finally, our hot topic focuses on the legal issues concerned with banning Facebook from the workplace.

The client focus this March is on NWJazzWorks and the Manchester Jazz Festival, while the hot topic covers consumer confident and the online environment.
February has seen the start of a new recruitment drive at UKFast as well as success with the ISPA awards, winning the Best Business Host accolade for the third year running.
The newsletter also looks at using virtual private networks for added security and taking your corporate social responsibilities seriously and to the best advantage.
The hot topic this month discusses the need for mobile security now that our telephones are becoming on-the-go organisers and many people are using them to communicate with their servers and beyond.
